Forum #1: The Animation Industry
Tipping Point Media is working in virtual/augmented reality animation. Currently, he is in need of animators with an array of background requirements such as have 2-4 years in BFA/MFA, C++/Java Script proficiency, experience in 3D modeling, and a whole slew of others. Now the reading didn't quite cover augmented reality, but they both will require the same kind of ideas. Learning about weight and balance, the window by which we'll be experiencing the game and environment animation, which for augmented reality, maybe one of the most important aspects since the animation would be at least one "layer" above our reality.
Darlie Brewster is a 2D animator with quite a bit of experience. She's worked with TonicDNA which animated the Suess Green Eggs and Ham series, Warner Bros. Animation where she worked on Tom and Jerry Feature Return to Oz and even worked as an Illustrator for Letters From My Sisters. Right of the bat, having worked with someone as big as Warner Bros, which has animators all over the place, it's natural that she's going to have to work with others, which is a key point in the first chapter. Also, in terms of Design Sense, when helping with the animation of Tom and Jerry, there is a lot of focus on the "feel" of the characters. I mean as in making sure their actions are overexaggerated for comedic effect, which is the main point of the Tom and Jerry cartoons.
